In Inside the Pocket of a Clown, Cox abstracts and reimagines an iconic western cowboy portrait. The work starts as vintage fabric over a canvas stretchers with a geometric base design overlay. This becomes the background for semi-abstracted oil portrait. Inside the Pocket of a Clown is part of an ongoing series inspired by vintage western movie stills and headshot portraits of actors and models of the same genre.
