Dollar Davis represents a collection of original paintings in the style of Western Pop Art and Americana. The artwork is created digitally and then comes to life with precise lasers that cut sheets of wood into individual sections. Each part is independently painted and then put together to produce the final piece. The pseudonym is used by Los Angeles based artist and photographer Brian Davis. The name is a tribute to his ancestor Dollar Davis, a fellow carpenter who came west to America in 1634.
