More about Munita

“I found these flowers early summer in the Owen’s valley region. They were a very common sight and were hard to ignore. They were in full bloom and really made a showing. These flowers are also known as prickly poppies and I have visited this subject a few times. I really love the delicate nature of the petals with the contrast of prickly green blue stems and leafs. The inspiration for the title of the work comes from its scientific name Argemone munita – munita meaning armored in latin.” – Shae Reardon
