I was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria and currently live in USA.
Bachelor in Geography and MS in PR, I’ve been atelier art trained – while in Bulgaria at the Tafrov Atelier (by the realist master painter Ivan Tafrov) and at the Southern Atelier when moved to the USA (by the master Charles Miano). While studying how to draw animals in the wild, zoos and museums, I’ve also learned about their nature, behavior and character. I’ve traveled across Europe, Africa and North America to study and sketch the natural world.
Drawing and painting the wildlife, Is about capturing not only the outside, but the inside as well. As an animal artist, there’s always something special and something different. Every creature has its own story to tell. That’s what keeps me inspired.
Traveling the world, sketching from live, or just observing and photographing the wild is what makes it so interesting and challenging. I love and live by the words of Robert Bateman, that the world would be a better place if every person was a bird (nature) watcher.
