Born in San Antonio Texas. B.F.A. in painting from Baylor University in 2007. Has taught public school art at University High School in Waco, Texas. M.F.A. candidate at Savanah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia.
Statement
“My work is simple to understand. It has no intense conceptual nature. It is not ramped up for any emotional effect. It, “the work” is meant to be beautiful. Regardless of the image, style, or medium, the work is intended to be pleasing to the eye. Every calligraphic line or fluid brush stroke is added like notes to a score. I work to see that all those visual notes and chords come together to play in harmony. I truly love to work with any image, any medium, any style. This may have something to do with my attention span…or simply my love for the many aesthetics that make up our visual vocabulary.” – Bradley Settles
