More about Resting on His Laurels
This painting was inspired by a friend’s bison herd sire GW. I was able to walk right up to him and get pictures. He was the sire of an orphaned bison bull calf that we got to know as ‘Stormy.’ Stormy was raised on a bottle and thinks he is a human, having slept in the bedroom on the floor by his foster mother, James, who had his hand on him as they slept. Stormy has now replaced GW as the herd sire. The painting is of an image I shot while visiting the Sandy Springs Bison Farm near Hinton, Oklahoma.
Soft pastel on Uart sanded archival paper, professionally framed with 2″ leather-looking mat and antique gold button fillet, with museum glass.
Total dimensions: 13.5 x 12.5 x 2.5″
