I have been creating things for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t start seriously painting until taking an art class in college. I was instantly hooked and since then art has been a huge part of my life. I am originally from Minnesota and received my B.S. in Art Education from North Dakota State University. I have dabbled in all painting mediums but my true love lies with oil paint. I usually work from pictures that I have taken, but I also enjoy plein air painting when I can.
I am endlessly inspired by landscapes. Spending time outside and painting are intertwined and I have found that I cannot have one without the other. It is both a cathartic practice and how I celebrate and remember God’s goodness in the world around me. My artwork explores themes of faith and the human experience through contemporary landscapes. God speaks and relates to us through his creation and my goal is to capture the moments, metaphors, and lessons, that we may return to them again and again.
My husband Joe and I currently live in Bend, Oregon with our border collie, Finn.
