Sarah Dean was born and raised in Colorado, and has been drawing since she could pick up a pencil. The western landscapes and lifestyle of her home state have influenced her preference for equine art, from cattle ranches to the show ring. Sarah has trained under a variety of professional artists to sharpen her skills in both oil painting and graphite pencil.
Statement
To me, the core of my passion for art has always been the horse. I doubt that I’ll be able to completely capture everything I love about these powerful, gorgeous creatures even if I spend the rest of my life putting them to canvas. I want each piece I create to tell a fleeting moment of a story, to invite the viewer into the frame and entice them to wonder how they got there and where the scene is going next.
