Born and raised in New Mexico, Denise Deleo is always finding her way back home, often through the lens. Though she studied at NMSU and UNLV in the Fine Art Department, she’s a self-taught photographer, drawing from cross-medium influences such as the work of Andrew Wyeth. She enjoys using natural light and elements to take portraits of beautiful people and places.
Whether in Deleo’s landscapes or portrait work, she conveys palpable emotion and longing… a whisper in a quiet, desolate landscape. What that whisper may say, specifically, is left to the viewer to interpret and feel.
