Royal Beardtongue

Oil on Linen, 12 x 9 in

This is a Unique Work

More about Royal Beardtongue

These penstemon overlook Glass Mountain and cumulus clouds. There’s this unity of color between the royal beardtongue and the mountains and clouds. The cool hues in this painting are interconnected, continuously referencing one another. It was a bright sunny day with a slight breeze. The penstemon that grow vertically slowly sway back and forth with the wind. While the flowers blend well with their environment, their unique bloom drew me to them. Painting this flower allows me to take the time to see many details we often miss in person.
