“Sotol Vista in Big Bend National Park is a good place to stop on the way to or from Santa Elena Canyon for a sunrise or sunset. Santa Elena is visible in the far distance in the expansive Chihuahuan Desert. After painting Santa Elena in the morning I stopped here around mid-day and captured the form of Kit Mountain from the vista.” – Alice Leese
