Palo Duro Canyon, a breathtaking state park outside Amarillo, takes you by surprise. The landscape is relatively flat, but suddenly the terrain drops away, revealing stunning vistas of bright red rocks and lush landscapes, quite different from a place like Big Bend. This piece was inspired by the gentle evening light reflecting around the canyon.
