At age six, I visited Taos for the first time, and fell in love with the area. I have held an interest in art since childhood, and earned a BFA in Studio Art, with a focus in painting, from The University of Texas at Austin. My body of work consists mainly of oil paintings, but I also engage in printmaking and ceramic production. As an avid hiker, cyclist, and skier, I take every opportunity to seek thrills in, and inspiration from, nature.
Statement
My work examines the underlying energies that compose the basic elements of our universe. I draw inspiration from the art of indigenous peoples from around the globe to illustrate the the spectrum of electromagnetic forces, and fiber of being, that connect us all. Light, color, and form interlock to complete windows into the core of the illusion we refer to as “reality.”
