I have lived in Oklahoma for over 40 years and currently live at Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma. My newest series of paintings reflect my love and inspiration from the landscape, places and people of the lake and surrounding areas. To me, art is an expression of the life and cultural of the world we live in. I love to explore light and color of the scenes I paint. I also finds great inspiration in the cultural history of the peoples of my state. My first interest in western art began with my grandfather, a cowboy who lived and worked on ranches in West Texas. My 3x great grandmother was a full blood Cherokee in North Carolina and although her ancestors never registered and they have lost that heritage, I find fulfillment in sharing my vision of Native Americans and the richness of their culture in my paintings.
