About Western Gallery

As a fine art gallery, Western Gallery consistently promotes our artists’ work to our ever-growing list of collectors and social media followers, using the latest (and sometimes experimental) digital marketing techniques. We also regularly provide advice, critique, online workshops and other professional development services to our represented artists.

The WG Working Artist Community is designed to extend these same services to artists who aren’t currently on our roster while leading an ongoing dialogue among like-minded artists to sharpen their artistic and professional skills and image, and to advance their work and careers.

About George Irwin

George holds a BFA in Design from The University of Texas at Austin, and built his career around design, technology and the arts. He’s steeped in digital marketing, professional communications design and has a passion for the landscapes and lifestyles of Western America, especially when expressed as art.

George began curating a new Instagram account, @westerngallery, in late 2016, posting his favorite artworks of the West—both historical and contemporary. After a strong community of artists, gallerists and collectors developed on Instagram, he realized he had a unique set of skills and opportunity to create an online-first art gallery. Since opening in January of 2020, he’s reviewed thousands of artworks from hundreds of artists, put on numerous formal group exhibitions and regularly introduces Western Gallery’s newly represented artists to the world.

These experiences, combined with the deep networking afforded by producing and hosting the podcast, Horizons by Western Gallery, have given him direct insights into what makes an artist successful in their career, and the best ways to present both the artist and their work in the online space.
